District Report for West District
Quarterly Report
December 2, 2006
West Georgia District
GAPAN

Elections were held in May for the 2006-2007 year with the following results:
    President – Heather Click
    Vice- President – Brenda Strane
    Secretary – Wanda Lowery
    Treasurer – Cindy Tucker

A successful membership drive in the spring resulted in a significant increase in
membership in our district.  West District President Heather Click was recognized
as GAPAN Peri-anesthesia Recruiter of the Year at the state conference held in
Augusta in October.  Three members of the West District attended the
conference – Heather Click, Sue Lockhart and Libby Bermingham.

The meeting schedule for the 2006-2007 year includes meetings the second
Wednesday in the months of September, November, January, March, and May.
September’s meeting was held at Newnan Hospital and included a presentation on
Chemical Warfare by Joe Gall, CRNA; the November meeting was hosted by
district members at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton and featured a
presentation on the On-Q Pain Pump.  In January and May the group will meet at
Newman Hospital; the March meeting will be hosted by members at West Georgia
Medical Center in LaGrange.  A community service event is planned in January.

Member Amy Kines recently returned from a medical mission trip to India which
received support by West District members and other Surgical Services employees.

Several goals have been established for this year.  They include revising the
district by-laws to comply with current GAPAN By-laws, obtaining continuing
education credits for our district educational presentations, and identifying
additional community service opportunities.

Respectfully submitted,
Heather Click, RN, CPAN
West District President
